#RVACouncil is about to get really real... Monday March 12th kicks of the marathon of Council budget meetings. This first day's work sessions will be focused on 21st Century Richmond. From 9AM- 12PM they will receive presentations on the budget, public schools, and public utilities. Then from 1PM-3PM they will receive presentations on Economic Development, Housing and Community Development, Planning and Development Review, and Parks, Rec, and Community Facilities. Then, after all of that, the informal meeting starts at 4PM followed by formal City Council at 6PM. 

On the agenda are a few mutual aid agreements with neighboring law enforcement agencies including Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Petersburg, and VCU police. There is also a Special Use Permit for the former Maggie Walker Bank building to be renovated with non-residential space downstairs and 12 residential units upstairs. Also on the consent agenda is granting RRHA the authority to issue up to $25M of its multifamily residential rental housing revenue bonds for the purpose of acquiring, renovating, and rehabilitating 216 units known as "The Belt Atlantic" which used to be known as Midlothian Village. There is one item on regular agenda and it is granting a Right of Way Agreement to Dominion Energy at 3801 Douglasdale Road for the purpose of them crossing city property to install and service a CSX railroad signal.
