I ASKED THE CANDIDATES FOR EVERY RACE IN EVERY DISTRICT ACROSS THE CITY, "WHAT WILL YOU DO IF YOU DO NOT WIN YOUR RACE ON NOVEMBER 8TH?"
Nelson Mandela once stated "I never lose. I either win, or I learn something." I live by that quote, and will carry those words of wisdom beyond November, by continuing to dedicate my life and career to bridging our systems to be more effective and culturally competent for the citizens of Richmond.
I've learned through my life and career that our greatest accomplishments are not the things that help us to propel ourselves, but the moments that encourage us to help others. I look forward to post- November so that I can continue to advocate for our youth to have access to an equitable, trauma informed, and sustainable diverse education. But above all else, I plan to engage in some much needed self-care by vacationing in my adopted second home- Costa Rica.
